Atlavo Parking shows car parks on a world map, coloured by what they cost. This page says what the app does, how to report a problem, and how to correct the data yourself.

What the app does

Everything in this list works without an account. Only the last two entries need the optional Atlavo Premium subscription.

• A world map where every car park is coloured by cost: free, free under conditions, paid, blue zone, or unknown. Colour is never the only signal, each state also carries its own shape and its own glyph.
• Search for a place by name, with walking rings drawn around it.
• A nearby list of the car parks on screen, sorted by walking time, and built to be used with a screen reader.
• Free filters: free parking, blue zone, covered, open 24 hours, accessible spaces.
• A suggestion to find a car park nearby, which points at the closest one whose cost we actually know.
• Directions handed over to the navigation app you already use.
• Atlavo Premium: advanced filters, such as maximum vehicle height, walking time, or minimum capacity.
• Atlavo Premium: downloadable region packs, so that the map keeps working with no network at all.

Do I need an account?

Not to use the map. The map, search, the nearby list, the free filters, the nearby car park suggestion, saved places, the legend palettes and the handover to a navigation app all work without an account, and none of them asks you to create one.

An account is required for two things only: contributing an information, and subscribing. Signing in has no password. You type your email address, we send a login link to it, and that link signs you in.

An Atlavo Premium subscription is attached to your account, so it follows you to another device as soon as you sign in there.

Reporting a problem

Write to the address at the bottom of this page. There is no form to fill in and nothing to install.

To get a useful answer on the first reply, please tell us:

• what you saw, and what you expected instead,
• where it happened, for instance the town or the name of the car park,
• the device and the version of its operating system,
• the app version, if you know it.

Where the map data comes from

Car parks, their names, their opening hours and their prices come from OpenStreetMap, an open database built by contributors all over the world. We invent none of it and we correct none of it by hand: what the app shows is what the database says. When the database says nothing, the app says unknown rather than guessing.

A wrong car park can be corrected, and by you. Inside the app, open the car park and declare what you saw on site, which takes one tap. Or edit it directly on openstreetmap.org, where the same correction also improves every other map built on that data.

A correction made inside the app reaches other people in 2 minutes at most, and it is written into the map itself at the next nightly rebuild. A correction made directly on OpenStreetMap reaches us within a few days.

Atlavo Premium

Atlavo Premium is an optional subscription. It adds the advanced filters and the downloadable region packs. Everything else stays free, including the map itself, the free filters and the accessibility palettes.

Billing, renewal and cancellation depend on where you subscribed. For a purchase made in the iOS app, open the subscriptions section of your App Store account. For a purchase made on our site or in the Android app, cancel online from your account, and the terms of sale explain how. In both cases, cancelling stops the renewal, and the subscription keeps running until the end of the period already paid for. If your Premium access was a gift, there is nothing to cancel: it ends by itself.

If you change device or reinstall the app, open the subscription screen and use Restore purchases.

Your data

From Settings, then Account, inside the app, you can export everything your account holds and delete it. Deletion is immediate and final. What is collected, and what is not, is set out in the privacy policy linked below.

Writing to us

One address, read by a person. There is no chatbot and no ticket number.

We answer in French and in English. Messages in the other languages of the app are welcome, and the answer will be in English.
